Dear sisters and brothers,
The Lord sends out disciples in pairs, an unsubtle reminder that our faith is not a solitary journey, and that, if we choose to participate in Jesus’ ministry and spread His good news, we will necessarily have to make common cause with others. This can lead to conflict and disagreement about priorities, content, and tactics in doing what’s perceived as the Lord’s work. For myself, I often struggle to trust the motivations of those with whom I disagree, even as I try to recognize the diversity (of gifts, of perspectives) among those who make up the one body of Christ. If any of you experience this same dynamic, know of my empathy and prayers.
I hope the summer is treating you and your families well, and that I will see many of you soon.
Andrew
