Dear Sisters and Brothers,
We are a pilgrim people, and about now it may feel as if we’re wandering in a bit of a circle. The city has re-imposed an indoor mask mandate, and the Archdiocese is very likely to do the same for city parishes beginning this weekend. With the return to these precautions, I am comfortable that we can continue to come together to celebrate the Eucharist. As I mentioned on Sunday, I know that the decision to attend Mass in person continues to be a fraught one for many of us, not least those with children unable to be vaccinated.
Even if we cannot worship with you in three dimensions, know that your presence is still felt and what a valued part of our community you remain. I pray this current surge is shorter and shallower than those we have already endured.
